Switches play a role in forwarding and filtering data transmission. When the destination address of a data frame is mapped in the MAC address table, the switch will only forward the data frame to the port connected to the destination node, not all ports. This not only improves network efficiency, but also avoids unnecessary network congestion. However, for broadcast or multicast frames, the switch will forward them to all ports to ensure that all devices in the network can receive these frames.
