Phoenix Contact, a global leader in industrial technology, showcased its breakthrough achievements in three core areas: industrial DC grids, digital factories, and efficient control cabinet manufacturing at the 2025 Hannover Industrial Fair under the theme of "Creating the Future Together."
During the exhibition, Phoenix Contact China and Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. signed a memorandum of cooperation, announcing that they would carry out comprehensive joint innovation in the field of industrial digitalization and promote the deep integration of the two major technology systems of ICT and OT.

During the 2025 Hannover Messe in Germany, Phoenix Contact China and Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to collaborate on comprehensive joint technological innovation in the field of industrial digitalization. The two parties engaged in in-depth discussions on the integrated development of ICT and OT technologies in industrial digitalization and intelligent manufacturing, as well as on joint solution innovation and industry applications.

As a leader in ICT technology, Huawei will provide products and solutions including Kunpeng/Ascend computing, edge computing, advanced industrial networks (such as 5G, F5G, TSN, SPE, and IPv6+), openEuler/OpenHarmony operating systems, and Huawei Cloud AI. Through high-performance computing power and operating systems, and deterministic, high-speed, and low-latency advanced industrial networks, we will build a solid ICT foundation for the digitalization of industry.
Phoenix Contact
Phoenix Contact, known as a hidden champion in the OT field, offers PLCnext Technology, an open ecosystem platform designed for modern automation, specifically for the intelligent devices of the future. Based on this platform, Virtual PLCnext Control (including an IDE, runtime, and support for real-time programming in IEC 61131-3 or high-level languages such as C/C++, C#, or MATLAB® Simulink®) enables hardware and software decoupling, multiple controllers per machine, and flexible expansion.
The collaboration between the two companies began in the Chinese market. Leveraging Huawei's solid ICT capabilities and focusing on Phoenix Contact's open control platform, PLCnext virtualized control technology, they developed a native flexible production line application based on Kunpeng, Euler, advanced industrial networks, and Virtual PLCnext Control. Incorporating the PROFINET over 5G solution, they developed XSO network-industry collaboration capabilities, achieving wireless factory automation, centralized PLCs, and flexible production lines.
This in-depth exchange between the two parties has laid a solid foundation for further comprehensive and in-depth cooperation in the fields of a fully electrified society and industrial digitalization. Huawei and Phoenix Contact will work together to promote the in-depth and practical application of OICT convergence, jointly build an open and universal automation architecture, and promote the comprehensive development of the industry chain.

Using DC grid technology, a full-chain solution for the efficient access, storage, and distribution of renewable energy was demonstrated. On March 31 , the live broadcast room of Phoenix Detective Agency's German branch welcomed two important guests: Ulrich Leidecker, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Phoenix Contact Group, and Gu Jiandang, President of Phoenix Contact China .
