Hirschmann Switch RSTP Configuration

Jun 11, 2025 Leave a message

Note: RSTP will conflict with the ring protocol when it is enabled. When planning, pay attention to the design of the Layer 2 redundancy solution, whether to use spanning tree or ring. Disconnect the switch ring network first to avoid network storms caused by logical rings, and set all DIP switches of the switch to Off.

1. Log in to the switch configuration interface and enter the ring network configuration interface as shown in the figure to clear the ring network configuration:

Click the "Delete ring configuration" button to delete the ring network configuration; then click "Set" to save

Enabling RSTP will conflict with the Ring Protocol, so pay attention to the selection of the Layer 2 redundancy solution!!!

2. Enter the RSTP configuration interface and configure the switch RSTP, as shown in the red box below:

Operation: Enable the switch STP function

Product Version: Select STP protocol, the default is RSTP (802.1W)

Select bridge priority. When configuring RSTP for the Hirschmann switch ring network, specify one switch with the smallest Priority value as the root bridge. If there are no special requirements for other switches, use the default value.
