MOXA MGate MB3180 Modbus TCP Gateway
Introduction
The MOXA MGate MB3180, MB3280, and MB3480 are standard Modbus gateways that facilitate the conversion between Modbus TCP and Modbus RTU/ASCII protocols. The product can support up to 16 simultaneous Modbus TCP masters and up to 31 RTU/ASCII slaves per serial port. For RTU/ASCII masters, the maximum number of TCP slaves that can be supported is 32.
Standard Modbus Network Integration
The MOXA MGate MB3180, MB3280, and MB3480 have been designed with the objective of facilitating the integration of Modbus TCP and RTU/ASCII networks, offering customers a seamless solution for their networking needs. These models allow Modbus serial slave devices to be incorporated seamlessly into existing Modbus TCP networks, while also enabling Modbus TCP slaves to be made accessible to serial masters. The MOXA MGate MB3180, MB3280, and MB3480 offer a comprehensive range of features that facilitate seamless network integration, allowing users to tailor their solutions and ensure compatibility with a wide range of Modbus networks.
High-Density, Cost-Effective Gateways
The MOXA MGate MB3180 gateways provide an effective solution for connecting a high density of Modbus nodes to the same network, offering a cost-effective option for network integration. Each RS-232/422/485 serial port can be configured individually for Modbus RTU or Modbus ASCII operation and for different baud rates, allowing both types of networks to be integrated with Modbus TCP through a single Modbus gateway.
Auto-Device Routing for Easy Configuration (patented)
Moxa's Auto-Device Routing function is designed to streamline the configuration process for engineers working with large numbers of Modbus devices, eliminating common challenges and inconveniences. The configuration of a slave ID routing table and the automatic detection of Modbus requests from a supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system can be completed with a single mouse click. The Auto-Device Routing function eliminates the need for engineers to manually create the slave ID routing table, saving them significant time and cost.
