When the 24 V DC power output of the equipment is lost, the UPS backup power supply can provide a stable 24V DC output to ensure the power supply for the load equipment to operate stably within the set time. This article will give you a brief introduction to Weidmüller's uninterruptible power supply products.

Weidmüller uninterruptible power supply products consist of three parts:

Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) Control Unit

Battery Module

Buffer module

Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) Control Unit

The uninterruptible power supply (UPS) control unit, together with the corresponding battery modules and power supply unit, forms a complete DC UPS system. In normal operation, the input voltage of the UPS control unit is directly connected to the load. In the event of a mains failure (sharp drop in DC input voltage), the system switches to battery power. After the mains power supply is restored, the system switches back to normal operation and the built-in charger charges the battery to saturation. Three relay outputs, three redundant active transistor outputs and one control input lock the battery operation, which can be fully remotely controlled via PLC or DCS. Multiple operating states and easy-to-use status displays ensure fast fault diagnosis and meet user customization needs.

Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) control units are available in two types: 24V 20A/10A and 24V 40A.

Advantages: Stable DC output; built-in battery status diagnosis, easy maintenance; intelligent ambient temperature compensation, optimal charging mode, maximized battery life; LED, relay, transistor signal output, remote monitoring; wide operating temperature range -25°C...70°C; suitable for global markets, CE, UL, TV, GL certification; stable, reliable, long life.

Battery Module

Weidmüller battery modules use high-quality Panasonic batteries. These lead-acid batteries are sealed and maintenance-free. The battery modules are equipped with temperature sensors to ensure excellent charging results and service life. This design enables the batteries to be charged with temperature compensation.

Simple design, plug-and-play battery and temperature sensor for safe and quick battery installation.

There are five types of battery modules: 24V DC1.3AH, 24V DC12AH , 24V DC17AH , 24V DC3.4AH , and 24V DC7.2AH.

Advantages: Stable DC output; maintenance-free; built-in temperature sensor; stable, reliable and long life.

Buffer module

In the event of a power outage, the DC buffer module provides a 24 V DC supply within 250 ms to 1 s. The energy required for the supply is stored with built-in capacitors, so it is maintenance-free. The operating status of the buffer module is displayed via LEDs and is connected to the relay and transistor outputs via electrical signals.

The buffer module is available in 24V 20A .

Advantages: Stable DC output; adjustable output voltage; input fault alarm; suitable for global market, CE, UL, TV, GL certification; stable, reliable and long life.
